Hello lovelies!
Since moving to Richmond, Sam and I are discovering new things to do, see and eat every weekend. It’s so nice to have these sweet adventures with just the two of us after a hectic work week.
This past weekend my husband and I visited the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and Oh My!! The whole garden is so spectacularly blazened with lights, it literally is a magical winter wonderland. If you live around Richmond or are in the area, this is a must see event.
We spent the whole night oohing and ahhing over all the creative displays, from Jack in the beanstalk (complete with a giant beanstalk!) to Hansel and Gretel, they really pulled out all the stops.
And if your little toes and fingers get frozen they have a hot cocoa station and a lovely s’mores fire pit set-up, such a fun treat for little explorers!
You don’t have to be a child to relish in the clever arrangements but I can’t promise you won’t be transported back to your imaginative childhood.
After you’re finished with the outside tour, stop by the conservatory for the massive floral Christmas tree, model trains and Tinker Bell.
I snagged a few presents on our way out from the Gift Shop, which features pieces by local artists. We can’t wait to go back next year and this time, try the light-up maze! We are loving all the local traditions Richmond has to offer and are having so much fun making them a part of ours.
